25 train cars derail near Warrensburg; Authorities give all clear

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - Roads have reopened after about 25 train cars derailed east of Warrensburg, authorities say.

The Johnson County Fire Protection District says Union Pacific reported the derailment just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 9.

Crews report that 25 cars left the tracks in a field between Missouri 13 Highway and NE 501 Rd., north of the UCM Trapshooting Range.

Authorities say no one was injured and no hazardous materials were released.

JCFPD confirms that all roadway crossings have since reopened. No further information has been released.
