GLENDALE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) — A driver in Arizona is facing several felony charges after being accused of driving while impaired in late June, officials said.

While the Arizona Department of Public Safety has not identified the driver, troopers said the driver’s blood alcohol content measured 0.441 — five and a half times over the legal limit.

Many people called 911 to report erratic driving on Loop 101 in the Arrowhead area. Troopers said they found the suspected car several miles south near Camelback Road.

Troopers said the driver didn’t stop before crashing into a wall and a sign while merging eastbound onto I-10 from Loop 101.

No injuries were reported.

Troopers found open containers in the vehicle’s cup holder and glove compartment.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, people with a BAC over 0.40 could potentially be fatal or at the risk of coma.
