PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) - Federal authorities executed a search warrant at a Philadelphia home on Tuesday where they found two young children living in “squalid” conditions alongside dead animals.

Sources said the FBI was executing a search warrant related to terroristic threats against the White House.

Sources said agents found the 5-year-old and the 8-month-old children living in unsanitary conditions with feces, fleas, piles of trash and no running water.

The children had bug bites and bruises and were taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, according to sources.

About 40 cats, some of them dead, and at least one dead dog were also found inside the home.

Sources said the mother and father were taken into custody and will face child endangerment charges.

The children are now with the Department of Human Services.

Federal and local authorities continue to investigate the case.
