KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - THUNDERGONG! is back for another showdown at Uptown Theatre.

The concert, hosted by actor and KC native Jason Sudeikis, brings people to the metro from all over the world, raising money to help amputees.

This year’s guests and performers are Brendan Hunt, Weird Al Yankovic, Flavor Flav, Will Forte, Cristo Fernandez, The Woodhalls, who are U.S. Olympic athletes, and more.

“The show is a lot like a mix tape of songs maybe an older sibling made that you found,” Sudeikis said.  “Getting to come back home, bringing my kids, they get to see this and their ‘Kansas City cousins,’ so it’s friends and family putting on a show to help people.”

This is all for the Steps of Faith foundation, a non-profit that helps uninsured and underinsured amputees get prosthetic limbs they need.

This year alone, Steps of Faith changed the lives of 385 people.

“The success of THUNDERGONG!, the last 7 years, and people who just gave us money throughout the year is what has made it possible for us to spend so much more money this year than we had budget for,” said founder Billy Brimblecom.

Last year, the show raised over $800,000. This year, the goal is $1 million.

“This is a big deal, and a dream come true,” Brimblecom said. “Getting a prosthetic limb is a very time sensitive thing, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We don’t want to have to pump the breaks. Fortunately, we have the funding in the bank, it keeps coming in to help so many people and that is why we want to raise so much money so we don’t have to pump the breaks.”

The show, which is Saturday night, sold out faster than ever. However, you can still donate, buy merchandise and even enter into a raffle to possibly get signed merch all on the THUNDERGONG! website.
