Kearney woman charged after trying to stab boyfriend with ice pick
KEARNEY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kearney woman is facing felony charges after police say she tried to stab her boyfriend with an ice pick while intoxicated.
First responders noted that the boyfriend was able to barricade himself in a room and call 911.
What happened
The Kearney Police Department said it responded just before midnight on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to Oak Ridge and Pine Crest Ave.

Dispatchers reported a domestic disturbance involving an intoxicated woman who had tried to stab her boyfriend with an ice pick.
When officers arrived, they indicated that they found the woman inside the home. They disarmed her and took her into custody without further incident.
The charges
The Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged the 40-year-old woman with:
- Felony armed criminal action
- Felony domestic assault in the first degree
As of Thursday evening, police noted that she remained in jail on a $75,000 bond.
