2 children found safe, suspect in custody after Kansas City Amber Alert
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two children are now safe with a suspect in custody after an Amber Alert in Kansas City.
The Kansas City Police Department says the family was concerned for the children’s safety after two siblings went missing. Around 9:45 p.m., the incident was upgraded to an Amber Alert.
According to KCPD, a 10-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were last seen around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, near Barry and Maple Woods Rd. in the north part of the city.

Police say the children were inside a silver 2-door Infiniti with Missouri temporary tags, 008DMLF, driven by Lyrick T. Bryson, 27.
The children:
Investigators describe the sister as a 4-foot-tall female who weighs 75 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red jacket, a yellow dress and pink shoes.
The brother is described as a 5-foot-tall male who weighs around 90 lbs. He also has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, red sweatpants, black jaket and black shoes.
The driver:
KCPD says Bryson is a 5-foot-6-inch-tall man who weighs around 200 lbs. He was wearing a black jacket, red hoodie, jeans and blue shoes.

Police have not clarified the relationship between Bryson and the children or the circumstances that led to the family’s concern.
As of 10:16 p.m., KCPD said the children had been found in South Kansas City. Bryson had also been taken into custody.
