Leavenworth authorities awaiting autopsy results in ‘suspicious’ death of 3-year-old

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) - The Leavenworth Police Department confirmed late Friday that they are investigating a toddler’s “suspicious” death.

According to the department, someone placed a 911 call around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, to report an unresponsive child. First responders tried to save the child’s life but were unsuccessful.

Little is currently known about the three-year-old’s death, but investigators say it is suspicious. No charges have been filed, and no arrests have been made as they wait for the autopsy results to come through.

The child’s identity has not been released.
