Shooting behind KCK fire station leaves 1 dead, 3 in custody
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - One man has died as the result of a shooting in a Kansas City, Kansas, park after he was found behind a fire station over the weekend.
The man has been identified as 18-year-old Branden Baskin, who lived in Kansas City, Kansas. One juvenile and two adults have been taken into custody.
The Wyandotte County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office says that just after 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, emergency crews were called to Kansas City’s Klamm Park at 2515 N. 27th St. with reports of a shooting.
When first responders arrived, they said they found one individual with apparent gunshot wounds behind Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department’s Station 14. The victim was described as a Black male who appeared to be in his late teens or early twenties. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Law enforcement officials indicated that three suspects have been taken into custody in connection to the incident.
As of 9 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office said the incident remains under investigation. No further information has been released.
