A Winter Weather Advisory for counties in Kansas has been canceled and has been extended until 9 a.m. Sunday for the Kansas City metro and counties in west and northwest Missouri.

Saturday offered only a few light flurries during the day. Around 10 p.m., the metro saw snow showers develop across the area, according to Meteorologist Brett Anthony.

During the overnight hours, the snow showers grew into an area of light snow. An inch or even less was possible in the Kansas City area by daybreak Sunday.

A few flurries will stick around shortly after sunrise on Sunday, but we'll end the day with some sun and "warmer" highs in the upper 20s.
