A cold front along with an upper-level low pressure system continue to move south and east through the morning. This will allow us to see heavier cloud content and an opportunity for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Warm and muggy conditions stick around this evening with light southwesterly winds in place. Overnight temperatures will fall into the 70s under a mostly clear sky.
Temperatures will stay hot even after sunset with many areas in the 90s after sunset. A heat advisory will remain in effect until 8 p.m. on Sunday for areas south of the Missouri River.
A few showers continue to pop up along a cold front across parts of northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri this afternoon. A few more storms could develop in northern Missouri and southern Iowa through the afternoon hours.
Scattered showers and thunderstorm activity have been popping up this morning, and heavy rain is expected to be common, especially to the northern side of the viewing area.
