Today is a Storm Track 5 Weather Alert Day, with cold rain this morning in the Kansas City metro that will turn to a wintry mix and snow by this afternoon and evening.
Snowfall totals of 1-3" are expected this storm.
A widespread 3-6 inches of snow is expected with up to 1/2 inch of ice south and east across the area.
A Winter mix of rain, sleet and snow is expected off and on the bulk of Monday. Another wave of mixed precipitation is likely through the early afternoon.
The Kansas City area will be under a Red Flag Warning on Wednesday. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from noon to 6 p.m.
