Supporters of law enforcement organized a “Back the Badge” rally in Johnson County today and, just across the street, demonstrators for the Black Lives Matter movement stood on the sidewalk throughout the rally and into the evening.

Last week, we told you about a party in Lee’s Summit that resulted in multiple COVID-19 infections. When viewers contacted us about a flyer for another party this weekend in the same neighborhood, we went out to investigate.

Monday Wyandotte County ordered schools to stay closed until after Labor Day. This is after Kansas Governor Laura Kelly’s Executive Order to do the same failed last week. The Piper School District says they’ve been working alongside the health department and Monday’s announcement came as no surprise to them.
