Kansas City Chiefs rookie kicker Harrison Butker has had an incredible season and now has another piece of hardware to back up the strong numbers.

Butker was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the month of December.

The Chiefs played in five games in December with the rookie kicker attempting 18 field goals and making 15 or 83-percent. Butker also hit all 14 of his extra point attempts.

In Kansas City’s final game, Butker capped off his strong month, and incredible season, with a game-winning 30-yard field goal against the Denver Broncos.

Throughout the Chiefs final five games, Butker totaled 59 points, second only to San Francisco 49er’s Phil Dawson for the month of December.

With the award, Butker is now the first rookie kicker to win the award multiple times since it was created in 1986. He also won in October.
