The Wyandotte County District Attorney has charged a woman with two counts of murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a pregnant woman.

Alora Mendoza has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.

According to court documents, the charges stem from the death of Jocelyn Ybarra.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. on June 2 in the 1900 block of North 41st Terrace.

The court documents allege that Mendoza killed 23-year-old Ybarra and her unborn child while trying to commit an aggravated robbery.

The documents say that, prior to the shooting, Mendoza and another person were in a car being driven by Ybarra when Mendoza texted the other person and said they should take that car.

Ybarra's body was found after a neighbor reported hearing a scream and gunshots. The vehicle Ybarra was in rolled downhill through the neighborhood and came to rest in a driveway, where it was found still running with three doors left open.
