Police in Mission, KS, have arrested a woman after a drive-by shooting on Thursday.

The shooting happened at about 6:55 p.m. in the 6400 block of W 61st Street.

Officers were dispatched to the area after receiving a call about gunshots in the area.

While at the scene, police learned that two vehicles were in the area and became involved in a verbal altercation with two people walking along the street. After the altercation, the vehicles began to leave when one turned south on Walmer Street. While speeding away, a passenger in the vehicle shot four times in the direction of a home.

During the shooting, several people were outside, including children. No injuries were reported.

A suspect vehicle description, including license plate information, was given to officers.

Later in the evening, the Kansas City, KS, Police Department located the vehicle at a home in the 200 block of S 12 Street in Kansas City, KS. Three people got into the vehicle and were later stopped near 10th Street and Central Avenue.

An adult woman was arrested in connection to the shooting.
