Chad Gerrick

YORK COUNTY, Penn. (Meredith) -- An elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot school officials after a plastic barrier erected to prevent the spread of COVID-19 was removed from his classroom, according to authorities.

The teacher at Sinking Springs Elementary School in York, 50-year-old Chad Gerrick, is being charged with one misdemeanor count of terroristic threats, Fox43 reported.

A cafeteria worker said she heard Gerrick threaten to “shoot all them f---s” at the Central York School District’s administration offices last Friday, according to the station.

Gerrick also said he would “come to school and spread COVID to everyone I can,” if he caught the coronavirus, according to police documents.

Gerrick was suspended by the school pending an investigation. Detectives who searched his home seized two long guns and a handgun, Fox43 reported.
