A day after nine people were shot and two were killed, Kansas City police investigated four new shootings on Thursday.
9 shot, 2 killed on Wednesday
Nine people were shot during a six-hour period of time in Kansas City on Wednesday evening. A woman was shot and killed outside her home following an altercation with a man. The shooting happened at 50th and Chestnut at around 3:30 p.m. Tyjuan K. Caldwell faces second-degree murder and armed criminal action charges. Two people were shot around 4:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of 79th Street. One victim suffered critical injuries, while a second person suffered non-life threatening injuries. About 15 minutes later, a person suffered non-life threatening injuries following a shooting in the 8700 block of Sleepy Hollow. At around 7:30 p.m., three people were shot in the 3600 block of Bridge Manor. One person died in the shooting, two were injured. Curtrail Hudson, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and four counts of armed criminal action. At 10 p.m., two more people where shot in the 400 block of Lawndale. A child and a man suffered non-life threatening injuries. 6 shot, 1 killed on Thursday At around 4 p.m on Thursday, two people were shot at 22nd and Walrond, one was found dead on 18th and Prospect. The victim was in his 50s. A suspect remains on the loose. At 6:30 p.m., a man was shot at 5101 East 24th Street. The man was shot in the knee, but is expected to survive. Two women were wounded in a shooting at 41st and Bellefontaine. The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. One of the victims is in critical condition. There have been no arrests in this shooting. At about 10:30 p.m., a man was injured during an exchange of gunfire with Kansas City police officers in the 4000 block of E 68th Street.
