Police arrested a suspect after a bank was burglarized in south Kansas City early Tuesday morning.
It happened about 6:30 a.m. at the U.S. Bank located at 10401 Holmes Rd.
Kansas City police were called to the bank building for a flood, but when they arrived, it was so much more.
Officers say a man was caught on the third floor after he’d set a fire. The sprinkler system was damaged and started flooding the building. Several hours later, water was still dripping into the ground floor garage.
Even though the suspect was found in the bank building, the FBI says he did not get into the bank itself.
Police say the person in custody may not have been working alone.
