A missing Kansas City, Missouri woman has been found dead in Shawnee, Kansas.

On Saturday, the Shawnee Police Department was told that a missing person from Kansas City, Missouri may be in Shawnee.

A joint investigation with police from Shawnee, Lenexa, and Kansas City, Missouri lead to the discovery of the missing woman at a residence in the 11400 block of 69th Street in Shawnee.

The suspect, Ronald Kidwell, was located and a second-degree murder charge was filed by the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty.

The victim is Meshon Cooper. She was 43 years old and had last been seen in Johnson County on July 6.

Her vehicle had been found in Kanas City, Missouri.

The investigation is ongoing.

“We believe this was an isolated incident and we are not looking for additional suspects at this time,” the Shawnee police said.
