GRANDVIEW, MO (KCTV) -- One man is dead after losing control of his car in Grandview and crashing into a building.

The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Sean D. Johnson of Grandview.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near Longview and South Frontage roads right off Interstate 49.

Police say a silver Lincoln Zephyr was seen traveling south on the exit ramp from US 71 Highway, at a very high rate of speed. The driver continued through the red light at Red Bridge and the ramp to Longview Road. At the round-about, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The Lincoln went off the roadway on the south side of the round-about, through a six-foot chain link fence and into a building. The vehicle burst into flames.
