KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- It's been more than two years since Kansas City, KS., police captain Robert Melton was shot and killed in the line of duty.

One organization is making sure his son has a special way to remember his father.

A cross-like memorial was built by motorcycle parts included Captain Melton’s picture and his KCK badge.

His 17-year-old son, smiling ear-to-ear, accepted the commemorative from Hellraiser’s Fabrication and Cycles.

Then another surprise tribute - David Melton received his father's motorcycle.

“It definitely shows that everyone supports law enforcement for the most part and no matter who they’re there are always good people," David Melton said.

The ceremony was put on by the Hellraisers Fabrication & Cycles group.
