Snow car

(Meredith) -  A family in Nebraska built a Ford Mustang out of snow, and it looked so realistic that a state trooper decided to give it a ticket.

Jason Blundell, 43, and his two kids created the massive snow replica of a 1967 Ford Mustang GTA during Saturday's snowstorm in Chadron, the Omaha World-Herald reported.

After completing the five-hour project, Blundell posted a photo of it to his Facebook page.

The post caught the attention of Nebraska State Patrol Sgt. Mick Downing, who attends the same church as the family. Downing then recorded himself driving by the sculpted car and giving it a fake tow notice.

The video was shared on the department's official Facebook page with the caption, "Now this is artwork!" It's been viewed more than 516,000 times since Sunday.

The Nebraska State Patrol also shared an image of the car, which has been dubbed the "SnowPony," on Twitter.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, the family used a skid loader, concrete wood floats, shovels, ice scrapers and a squirt bottle along with snow to create the Mustang.

This isn't the first time the Blundells have built a giant snow sculpture. They've also created several 7-foot-tall Easter bunnies, a 6-foot-tall jack-o'-latern and a massive toilet.

Blundell told the newspaper it's just another way to get his kids "off their cellphones for a day."

“Normally, we don’t do much with (the sculptures). We just take a couple pictures of them for ourselves. It just happened that our state trooper buddy came up to do a joke, and it blew up," he said.
