Columbia police arrest man for breaking into homes while naked - door cam

COLUMBIA, MO (KCTV/AP) — Police in Columbia, Missouri, say they have arrested a man who broke into two homes while naked over the weekend.

Investigators said 35-year-old Victor Hugo Mendoza broke into the homes, which were about a half-mile apart, early Saturday morning, and police think he may have tried to break into other nearby homes as well.

Both homes Mendoza entered were unlocked. There were no signs of property damage or theft.

Officers said the residents of both homes found Mendoza in the houses naked. In one case he was under the bed and in the other he was next to the bed.

Interim Police Chief Geoff Jones said women were in the bedrooms in both cases but he didn't know if they were alone. No one was injured.

Mendoza was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree sexual misconduct, fourth-degree assault, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
