Lawrence police search for man after woman grabbed from behind

A woman in Lawrence says she was just walking down the street when a stranger grabbed her from behind and put his hand over her mouth.

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -- According to the police chief, there were 15 auto burglaries in the neighborhood of Piper overnight.

All the vehicles affected were left unlocked.

The exact number and value of items taken from the vehicles has not been said.

Eleven victims declined to file reports.

“Please lock your cars and file reports,” the police chief said. “It helps with getting successful prosecutions.”
