Long Term Care and Short Stay Rehabilitation is looking for Nurses (LPN and RN) and Certified Nurse Aides for full time and PRN.

Lakeview’s Child Development Center is searching for both a full time and a part time Float Teacher to join the team that provides a nurturing environment in our Intergenerational Child Development Center. The center operates Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., the schedule varies based on the needs of the department.

Dining Services is looking for full time Cooks and Utility/Dishwashers, we offer a work/life balance that is not easily found within the food and beverage industry. Kitchens operate 7 days per week and schedules vary based on the needs of each department. ______________________________________________________________

Nurse:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promoting the residents’ well-being and satisfaction by supporting resident-centered care, developing and interpreting standards of care.
  • Observes resident status as necessary to assure quality care and coordinates with other resident services to assure continuity of care.
  • Provides leadership to neighborhood staff to maintain policies and procedures for clinical practices and household management that support the values of Person First and resident directed care.
  • Fosters collaboration, consensus and negotiation to address problem solving in the neighborhood; assures that all clinical policies and procedures of the neighborhood are maintained; interprets and communicates it to all in the neighborhood as needed, with an emphasis on resident, family or designated representative relationships.
  • Document completely, accurately and as needed on incidents, emergency care, and skilled services on all residents in the neighborhood.
  • Directly supervises the Certified Nurse Aides and Certified Medication Aides, in the neighborhood.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PHYSICAL DEMAND 

  • Must have a valid Registered Nurse licensure according to state of Kansas.
  • If a Licensed Practical Nurse, IV certification preferred.
  • CPR certified required.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds with the assistance of one person.
  • Must be able to push medication cart with 25 pounds of force.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, turn, and/or twist when necessary.
  • Ability to climb and walk stairs.
  • Ability to communicate effective in English, both written and oral, and with people from diverse backgrounds.

CNA:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends to all resident personal hygiene and personal care needs, including but not limited to grooming, hygiene, dining and nutritional, mobility, elimination, psychosocial and safety needs
  • The caregiver promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, and works with the household team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the household, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members
  • The caregiver assists with planning and facilitates social activities for residents of the household/neighborhood which provide meaningful ways to spend time as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun.
  • Responsible for meeting the residents nutritional needs by assisting them into the dining room at their choice of time, assist them with snacks as indicated by their care plan, and providing them fresh fluid of choice at their bedside.
  • Assist resident with providing AM or PM care when the resident is ready to either wake for the day, or go to sleep. All residents are allowed to sleep and wake according to their preferences.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PHYSICAL DEMAND 

  • Graduate of a state approved program for nursing assistants. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Kansas
  • Demonstrated ability to lift 75 pounds with the assistance of one other person.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, 5% of the time, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, 50% of the time.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and read English when performing work duties that require this need.

Lakeview Child Development Center is an inter-generational program that provides a nurturing, fun, and positive environment designed to promote the development of the whole child, as well as the interactions that promote meaningful relationships among the children and Lakeview Village Retirement Community residents.

Schedule Varies Monday-Friday during open center hours 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We expect our Teachers to be educated, kind, loving, fun, professional and creative.
  • Interacting with children individually and as a group to encourage their involvement in activities.
  • Appropriately supervise children in the classroom, restrooms, on the playground, and during intergenerational activities.
  • Understand and adhere to all health and safety requirements of Lakeview Village and the Child Development Center.
  • Assist in cleaning classrooms and the kitchen areas to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • In accordance with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, this position requires the applicant to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Early childhood teaching experience in a licensed classroom is required.

Dining Services is searching for Cooks, Diet Aides, Utility Workers, Catering Event Staff and Servers

Kitchens Operate 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and schedules vary based on the needs of the department and availability of the applicant. Both full and part-time positions are available.

Cook:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The primary purpose of this position is to guarantee the highest level of hospitality and satisfaction for Lakeview Village residents and guests by providing quality food and service.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP protocols (Sanitation, food borne illness, cross-contamination, etc).
  • Ability to work independently, display a kind, courteous attitude, work in a team-oriented setting with residents, relatives, staff and others.
  • Working knowledge of multiple cooking techniques and stations, standardized recipes. 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Minimum of one (1) year short-order/cook-to-order cooking experience REQUIRED, three (3) years preferred.
  • Ability to manually lift 30 pounds 95% of the time and lift 50 pounds 5% of time worked.

Utility Worker:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sweep and mop floors, washing worktables, walls refrigerators and meat blocks and removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in dishwashing machine, utilizing proper infection control procedures.
  • Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to insure sanitary standards.
  • Assisting in food preparation as directed

  • Cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
  • Ability to manually lift 30 pounds 95% and lift 50 pounds 5% of time worked.
  • Must be able to tolerate a noisy, hot, humid environment; as well as cold temperatures from refrigerators and freezers.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, turn, and/or twist when necessary.

  • Follow the proper procedures using labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • May work in all areas of the organization.
  • Move intermittently during working hours to other locations, including other apartments and/or buildings.
  • May be exposed to various environmental conditions while moving throughout the organization (indoor/outdoor climate).

POSITION

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, turn and/or twist & moderate lifting on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb and walk downstairs.
  • Must be able to push 15 lbs., pull 15 lbs., and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand in one place for up to 3 hours.
