March Career Fair

The City of Lenexa is hosting two upcoming career fairs to highlight numerous full- and part-time job opportunities available with the city. The career fairs will be held on:

  • Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m. to noon

Both events will be free to attend and will be held at Lenexa City Hall, 17101 W. 87th St. Pkwy with free parking located adjacent to City Hall. Job applicants do not have to be residents of the City of Lenexa.

Participants can speak directly with representatives from a variety of areas who hire new employees throughout the year, and interested attendees can apply for open jobs during the event.

“The opportunities to work for our city are extremely varied and diverse,” said Jim Bowers, Lenexa’s Director of Human Resources. “For example, right now we are hiring in many different departments, from Parks & Recreation to Municipal Services to Legal to Police. While some of our entry-level positions require a college degree, many do not. Also, residency in Lenexa is not required for most vacant positions.”

Available positions fluctuate throughout the year but currently include building services workers, police officer, police technical specialist, street maintenance worker, street sweeper, parks maintenance workers, court security officer and concierge in our Public Market.

As summer approaches, the city will especially be looking to fill many aquatics roles for the Lenexa Rec Center and its three outdoor pools.  The City is currently seeking lifeguards, cashiers and Swim and Dive Instructors for the summer.
