Netherlands to arrive in Riverside; KC rolls out ‘Oranje Rising Way’
RIVERSIDE, Mo. (KCTV) - Four national soccer teams are calling Kansas City home, and three will be in the metro area this afternoon.
Algeria is in Lawrence at Rock Chalk Park, Argentina is practicing at Sporting KC’s facilities in KCK, and the Netherlands arrives around 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, in Riverside.
The KC Current painted Riverside with an ‘Oranje Rising Way’ street to welcome the Netherlands training there for the month.

England’s national team will also arrive this weekend - heading to train at Swope Park in KCMO.
Kansas City will host six matches, including a quarterfinal.
“We are so proud to be able to host matches, let alone six matches and a quarterfinal,” said Kathy Nelson, CEO of the KC Sports Commission. “To now have three of the biggest names in a global sport based in Kansas City is almost surreal.”
The Dutch Orange Bus will join fans for a march downtown before the team takes on Tunisia.

“It’s all party, A to Z. A lot of fun,” said Michiel van Wijk of the Dutch Orange Bus Association. “That way it doesn’t matter if you win or lose. You already had the party.”
