Father accused of strangling 4-year-old son charged with attempted murder

BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) - Deputies say a father accused of strangling his child is in jail on attempted murder charges.
Clinton Daniel, 37, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault by strangulation.
The charges came after Daniel was reportedly released from a medical facility.
Beaufort County deputies conducted a welfare check after learning Friday that Daniel’s 4-year-old son had been strangled.
Deputies say when they arrived at the home, the boy was found safe with his mother, and he has been released from the hospital back into her care.
Daniel is being held in jail without bond.
