LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) - A collision between a semi-truck and a freight train is expected to cause a lengthy delay for some Amtrak riders.

The Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Police Department has warned community members to avoid the area of 4th and Main St. as crews clear the scene of a train crash.

Law enforcement officials noted that no injuries were reported after a freight train collided with a semi-truck on the tracks.

Amtrak warned riders that as of just after 8:30 p.m., Train 319 from Chicago to Lee’s Summit was forced to stop in Pleasant Hill. A lengthy delay is anticipated.
