Investigation into illegal weapon possession, drug distribution leads to man’s arrest
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Chillicothe Police Department says a man was arrested on Tuesday after officers executed several warrants in the city and recovered multiple illegal items.
In a post, CPD reported that officials began a domestic violence investigation in early March, which led to an illegal weapons possession and drug distribution investigation.
On March 11, 2025, they executed several search warrants within Chillicothe. Officers reportedly recovered evidence of drug distribution and several illicit items, including 14 firearms, a “large quantity” of ammunition and illegal drugs.
As a result, a 35-year-old man was taken into custody. His identity has not yet been released, but he was booked in the Caldwell County Detention Center and faces several charges:
- Unlawful Possession of Firearms
- Unlawful Use of Weapons
- Assault
- Possession of Controlled Substances
- Delivery of Controlled Substances
According to CPD, the man’s prior convictions prohibit him from owning firearms and they have evidence to suspect he was both obtaining firearms illegally and helping distribute controlled substances.
Anyone with information on this case or other instances of illegal weapons or drug activity in the city is asked to contact the Chillicothe Police Department at 660-646-2121.
