KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs will play in their seventh consecutive AFC championship game Sunday afternoon.

A handful of stars will have played in all seven games. Among them is tight end Travis Kelce.

Now a veteran of the NFL and everything that comes with the AFC Championship Game, Kelce offered some advice to his younger teammates Friday afternoon.

"Don’t let the lights blind you. It’s a big moment, you’ll hype it up cause you’ve been dreaming of moments like these, but you’re good enough. You don’t have to be anybody that you’re not," Kelce said.

The advice has served Kelce well.

He has the most career postseason catches for any wide receiver or tight end. He also has the most postseason 100-yard games.

Kelce also holds the following NFL records:

  • At least 70 yards in 14 straight games
  • At least five catches in 15 straight games
  • At least 3 catches in 23 straight games

Kelce is also second on the list with most career touchdowns and just 225 receiving yards short overtaking Jerry Rice for the top spot.

“I’m just excited for the challenges I get in this game. I’m very appreciative of the opportunities I have and this is one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever had. I’m excited at attacking that,” Kelce said.

He also credited his success, as well as the Chiefs success, to everyone buying in on a common goal and doing whatever they need to reach it.

“It’s something you’ve got to build together. I think it’s something that brings everyone closer together in the building,” Kelce said.

“It’s so much fun being in here with a coach like Andy Reid who lets everyone share their personalities.”
