1 man dead, 1 woman hospitalized in shooting on Norton Avenue
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Just before midnight on Wednesday, September 11, officers responded to calls of a shooting at 40th St. and Norton Ave., just east of Prospect Ave. and a few blocks west of George Melcher Elementary School.
When officers arrived, they found a man, identified as 43-year-old Willie L. Judon III, shot to death on the front porch of a nearby house.
A woman was also found suffering from a gunshot and was transported to a nearby hospital. She is expected to recover.
Homicide detectives are investigating what led up to the shooting, gathering evidence, and collecting witness statements to identify a person of interest.
