Tonganoxie police asking residents for help locating ‘pint-sized sharpshooters’

TONGANOXIE, Kan. (KCTV) - The Tonganoxie Police Department said Tuesday it is looking for tips to help solve a quality-of-life issue in the area.

Police took to Facebook and said “pint-sized sharpshooters” have taken their BB guns to the Tonganoxie streets, taking aim not at cans or old newspapers but instead “a more ambitious goal.”

That goal, neighbors’ residence windows, has police attempting to find the culprit(s).

TPD said the BB gun shooters have caused issues in the 600 block of Washington and in the area of 9th and Pleasant Street.

“In all seriousness, our city is lucky not to have serious crime problems,” the Tonganoxie Police Department said on Facebook, “and this post is so we can ensure quality-of-life issues. If you are aware of a neighboring adult or juvenile near Pleasant and Washington, who is shooting or carrying a BB gun, please call the station at 913-369-3754.”
