Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes competes against other big names for award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes seems to never be very far from the spotlight.

He’ll reenter the conversation Sunday evening at the BET Awards. The awards show aird on BET.com at 7 p.m.

As a three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback, Mahomes is nominated for BET’s Sportsman of the Year award.

The category is a crowded one. Mahomes finds himself up against:

• Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves
• Jalen Brunson, New York Nicks
• Gervonta Davis, pro boxer

• Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavericks
• Lebron James, Los Angles Lakers
• Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Mahomes has been nominated for the same BET award two other times. So far he hasn’t brought home the award.
