Boy expected to recover after being shot in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A boy under five was found shot Sunday afternoon but was expected to recover from his injuries.

Officers responded to a reported shooting on June 23 around 4 p.m. at the 6600 block of Bellefontaine Avenue near Meyer Boulevard.

Police said the child was found suffering from gunshot injuries, and he was taken to a hospital. First responders said he was expected to recover.

As of Monday morning, there was no word of an arrest in the case.
