Company proposes to build tallest skyscraper in the US

(CNN) – Developers are proposing to build the tallest skyscraper in the United States in Oklahoma City.

Matteson Capital and architecture firm AO had planned to build the second-tallest skyscraper in the country there, but they designed it to make it even taller.

They are seeking permission from the city’s government to increase the height of what’s being called Legends Tower to 1,907 feet.

The new height refers to the year 1907, which is when Oklahoma became a state.

If approved, the developers said it will beat New York’s One Trade Center to become the tallest building in the U.S.

It will also be one of the tallest in the world.

The mixed-use project, spanning about five million square feet, includes three much smaller towers and will be part of “The Boardwalk at Bricktown” development.
