Olathe police investigating shooting death of 15-year-old girl

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Friday night shooting left a teenager in Olathe dead. Police are investigating.

Just before 11 p.m., the Olathe Police Department was notified that a 15-year-old girl had been driven to Olathe Medical Center with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

On Monday, Olathe Police identified 15-year-old Brianna Rachelle Higgins as the victim of the shooting.

Officers at the scene helped bring the teen into the hospital to receive treatment but she was declared dead.

It was later determined that the shooting happened in the 16900 block of West 127th Street.
