Cooling Stations Open

Heat Wave Gripping Metro

The Salvation Army will keep its eight community centers open as Cooling Stations Friday through Monday while the excessive heat warning by the National Weather Service is in effect.

The locations, which will be open from 8 a.m. to at least 5 p.m., are as follows:

  • 6111 E. 129th St. in Grandview, Mo.
  • 14700 E. Truman Road in Independence, Mo.
  • 3013 E. Ninth St. in Kansas City, Mo.
  • 6618 E. Truman Road in Kansas City, Mo.
  • 4300 N.E. Parvin Road in Kansas City, Mo.
  • 500 W. 39th St. in Kansas City, Mo.
  • 420 E. Santa Fe in Olathe, Kan.
  • 6723 State Ave. in Kansas City, Kan.
