ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- Aquila officials said that many St. Joseph residents can expect to be without power for several more days after Monday night's ice storm."We have all of our crews that are based here at work now. In addition, we have more than 120 linemen coming in, either contract crews or our own crews from other areas and more than 50 tree trimmers coming in to help out in St. Joseph," said Aquila spokeswoman Judy Ness on Tuesday.Power crews are warning residents against walking under trees, many of which are heavy with ice and ready to snap.Ness said there is a concern that icy trees will bring down more power lines and more power outages are expected.
Ness added that safety is a concern in this weather. She cautioned residents to assume that any downed power line is charged and to avoid contact.
