Call These Numbers For Help During Storm

Below are numbers to call for help during the ice storm.

As always, call 911 in a life-threatening situation.

Missourians can call 211 or 888-377-2100 outside of 211 areas for information about shelters. The lines will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Calls will roll over to an answering machine if all lines are busy or after hours. Missourians are encouraged to leave a message and a phone number because all calls will be returned.

Independence Power & Light customers should call 325-7550 to report a power outage.

Kansas City Power & Light customers should call 888-LIGHTKC to report a power outage.

Aquila customers should call 816-303-0357 to report a power outage.

Board of Public Utilities customers should call 913-573-9522 to report a power outage.

Westar Energy customers should call 800-LIGHT-KS to report a power outage.

Kansas City, Mo., residents can call the 311 Action Center by dialing 311 or the Missouri Department of Transportation at 816-622-6500 to request that a street be cleared.

Requests for tree limb removal from rights-of-way should be directed to the 311 Action Center.

In Kansas, call 1-866-511-KDOT or 511 on your cell for road conditions. In Missouri, call 1-800-222-6400.
