KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Forecasters predict that an encore of the weekend's ice storm could be more severe than the initial storm.An ice storm warning will be in effect for much of Missouri Monday, as freezing rain over southern Missouri spreads north.Area grocery and hardware stores were busy Monday as residents stocked up on food, ice melt, generators and other supplies."Generators - better get it today or it will be gone by tonight," said Leroy Andrews of Strasser Hardware.Bad weather Sunday left tens of thousands without power in Missouri, and Gov. Matt Blunt declared a state of emergency. Ice glazed roads and snapped power lines as a storm moved across Missouri Sunday.Blunt also activated state emergency operations, and ordered the Missouri National Guard to aid communities affected by a storm that was expected to continue through midweek.
