KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police said a man tried to chase down another car while a young boy was riding in the front seat.

Officers pulled Diego Saenz Jr. over near Meyer and South Benton boulevards for failing to stop at a stop sign. Police said they found a gun and a 5-year-old boy in the car.

Moments later, another driver pulled up and said Saenz had fired shots at his car.

According to court documents, Saenz admitted to pulling out a gun and firing it in a road rage incident while his son was in the passenger's seat.

Saenz, 28, was charged with assault, armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon.
