Gunfire Erupts During Police Chase

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A police chase ended in gunfire overnight, officers said.Police said they spotted a stolen car about 10:45 p.m. near East 24th Street and Prospect Avenue.They said they tried to get the driver to pull over, but he refused. During the chase that ensued, police said the driver tried to run over an officer.Police opened fire and the driver surrendered near East 25th Street and Askew Avenue, officers said.No one was injured.Two people from the car were taken into police custody.
