Part of Interstate 70 was back open Thursday morning after a woman's dangerous drive through a construction zone.

Crews were working on the I-70 bridge over Manchester Trafficway Wednesday night when a driver rear-ended a dump tuck, pushing it nearly 100 feet, the workers said.

She then put her car in reverse and backed up nearly a quarter mile trying to escape, but she was blocked in by a worker's truck, the workers said.

The construction workers said the woman kept screaming that she had to get to work, and when police tried to get her out of her car, they said she punched an officer.

Police took her into custody, and workers reopened part of the interstate.

No one was injured.
