Man Accused In Deadly Hit-And-Run Appears In Court

A Mission Hills, Kan., man accused in a deadly hit-and-run wreck appeared in court Monday afternoon.

Curtis W. Mertensmeyer, 20, had his preliminary hearing.

He was accused of hitting Daniel L. Riemann, 25, of Lansing, Kan., on Ward Parkway on May 11 and leaving the scene of the wreck.

Prosecutors charged Mertensmeyer with felony leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

His trial is set to begin next month.
