A driver accused of running down a man on Ward Parkway and leaving him for dead was still on the loose almost a week after the crash, police said.

According to court records, Curtis Mertensmeyer, 20, of Mission Hills, was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, property damage, and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

He's accused of hitting Daniel Riemann near Ward Parkway and Westover Road, then driving off.

Riemann's body was found on a median on Mother's Day. His funeral will be held on Friday.

If you have information about Mertensmeyer's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
