DTV Coming In February

Analog TVs Will See Static After Switch

DTV is coming, and if you're not ready, you'll see static on Feb. 17.

Take a look at your television set and ask yourself these questions:

Does it say "DTV Ready", "ATSC" or "Digital Tuner" on the front or in manual. If so, you have a digital tuner.

Or when you scan the channels, is there an extra digit in the channel display? For example 5 -1? If so, you are already watching a digital television.

And, do you subscribe to a cable or satellite service? If so, they have taken care of the changeover for you.

If you answered no to any of those questions, you will need to make some changes.

You basically have three options.

You can buy a new digital television, subscribe to a cable or satellite service or purchase a converter box.
