President Donald Trump will soon visit Kansas City to raise money for Missouri Attorney General and United States Senate candidate Josh Hawley, according to metro GOP officials.

According to a letter posted on the Cass County GOP website, Trump will attend a luncheon on July 24 in Kansas City to fundraise for Hawley.

Hawley was elected attorney general in 2016 and recently has announced his candidacy for Senate in a battle against Democrat Claire McCaskill.

Trump has openly urged Republicans in Missouri to vote against McCaskill during his time as president.

The White House has not issued an official statement about the event.
