KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

For the sixth straight year, Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez will be playing in Major League Baseball's All-Star game.

Perez is hitting .213 this season with 11 homers and 34 RBI.

Defensively, Perez has not made an error all season and has thrown out 43 percent of the base runners who have tried to steal a base against him.

"I don't have a great year hitting right now, but on defense, I try to do my best every night," Perez said. "It's part of the game and I'm going to enjoy this with my family and enjoy the time in Washington D.C."

He is the only Royal that made the American League roster.

Only Royals legend George Brett has made more All-Star games as a Royal with 12.
