Man suffers life-threatening injuries after shooting at party

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities in Kansas City are investigating a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries on the city's west side early Friday morning.

The shooting happened before 3:40 a.m. near an apartment complex in the 3300 block of Wyoming Street.

Police say the victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to an area hospital to undergo surgery.

Officers say a woman living at the complex was hosting a gathering at her home. She is cooperating with police and told officers that she doesn't know everyone who was there.

Another woman spoke with police and told them she woke up to the sound of gunfire and found the man suffering from a gunshot wound, on her back porch.

No suspect information has been released.
